Say what

I know I'm behind the times with my reaction, but it is because mom and I just moved in to a new apartment with no internet or cable yet.
What is this all about?

I am trying to figure out if it is a huge publicity stunt, or they really are in love. Mom told me about watching the Oprah Episode

in which Tom Cruise was on jumping all over the coutch and hugging Oprah, and saying how happy he was, and how he was in love and how he never felt this way before, ever.

And all I can think about is What about Nicole? How does she feel hearing this all? I know they broke up and all, but Tom just said he was never in love with her the way he is in love now. That made me think about the fact that maybe he is having a mid-life crisis.
That's just what some "person" in mom's life did. He freaked out, left his other marriage of 35 years, and is now remarried and prancing around telling everyone how happy he is now, and how he was never happy before, and because of all his suffering before everyone owes him, and has to accept him and be happy for him now.
I'm sorry, but it takes people a lot longer to come to grips with the reality of accepting that before there was never love and now there is, in the "NEW RELATIONSHIP".
It's not like people are trying to not accept, but it is hard when people ask you to forget the past ever happened. Like Nicole, she happened and they had kids, and even if they were not happy with eachother ever, and their relationship was a sham, people will not forget what happened in the past.
And then there's the whole Katie Holmes factor, but I am too tired to speculate now.

It's all done!

The move is over, I am in my new apartment in Greenpoint. I like it, but I get a bit scared because it is a lot bigger than my old apartment. I do not like the fact that I do not have my cubby hole shelf to go and hide in. What I have done in the meantime is take to hiding in my travel bag. I like it in there because mom shoved it under the coutch so it is a bit squished small and dark. I do have to say that I have been barking a lot when mom leaves but that is just because I want to make sure that mom comes back!
In other news Frank likes the apartment a lot too, I am glad about that. He really helped mom a lot with the moving part and the unpacking part. It was not without repayment though,

after they were done mom took them to one of there favorite places to eat in Williamsburg in N.9th and Berry called Oznots Dish. They both had Lamb burgers
LAMB BURGER
on homemade rosemary foccacia with zaatar aioli, harissa, and sautéed onions.
At Oznot's dish the atmosphere and the food are both to die for. Of course mom got the same thing she got last time but it was well worth it.

The only bad part about there dinner to me was that they did not bring me back anything! How rude.

The painting is done!

Last night after changing in to pants and a shirt mom took me on a walk to the subway. WE got on (I am not so scared any more) and we went to Brooklyn. I love Mcarren Park, we get to walk through it on the way to our house. We go the the house and mom begins to paint again. She had to cover up all the primer that she put down first in order for the red to stick. I got a little bored at first and tried to stick my face in the paint to help mom, she was not having that and she tied me to the wall. Just as I got pissed off, the door bell rings and it is MILO! My friend had come over with his mom Kristine to play! Mom and Kristine painted while we got to play. I have to say Milo is a humper, and this time I humped back, this is my house and he is the visitor.
If we painted ourselves on the wall, we would look like this. . . .

and this. . . .

I know we would be cute.
Mom owes Kristine so much for all the help that she gave. She rolled up her sleeves got on a ladder and told mom that the color she picked for the bedroom was ugly and looked like a fairy princess! How funny is Kristine! All jokes aside she really helped mom a lot and it would not have been able to have gotten done with out her. Thanks, Kristine and Milo too!

Marilyn

Mom decided to wear a skirt today that she has not worn before. She found out the hard way on her way to work that it is not a good skirt for a windy day.
As she was walking from the subway reading the NY Metro's article about a guy putting a hidden camera under a subway grate in the Upper East Side, she had a total Marilyn Monroe moment. A gust of wind came flying out of the grate and her skirt flew up over her chest.

I happened so fast that she was not able to be graceful, or cute about it. She flung her hands down and went in to a semi crotch to guard the fact that her ass was visible to all the people behind her. Those of you who know mom well know about how that would be a real problem cause a certain garment she wears not!
At least she does not live around that area and have to see the same people she flashed. On the bright side she did make a bike messenger's day!

in case you wanted to know

um just to remind you, I was young once.

Life without a car

So mom is in the process of moving or rather painting our new apartment in Greenpoint.

I have to say that it is very difficult to gather supplies when there is no way to take more than you can carry. Last night mom decided that it would be a good idea to carry 3 gallons of paint a stool and other random things to our new apartment so she could begin painting it! Well, everything that she needed to carry weighed over 50lbs, (and she is not strong enought to do this. . . .

That is ok for really short distances but for long distances such as walking to the subway and down the the street to the apartment it is not ok.
Mom got half way to the bleeker st stop arms shaking and all, and broke down and took a cab. She had to. There was no way she could have put that load in her bike basket, and no way she could have continued to carry it all the way to BK. The cab ride only cost her 11 dollars, but it was money that she would not have to spend if she had a car. (I KNOW THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER COSTS THAT GO ALONG WITH HAVING A CAR THAT MAKES IT STUPID TO HAVE ONE IN THE CITY, BUT IF MONEY AND PARKING WERE NOT AN ISSUE), it might be nice to have the option of another method of transport while carrying heavy loads.
Tonight will be fun, mom is going to try and carry me in the dog bag (which I hate), and a very large ladder from soho to Greenpoint via subway.

I'll keep you updated on how that process goes. I can just say, I will not make it easy for her!

It's one of those weeks at work

So it has turned in one of those weeks where mom keeps getting yelled at at work for no reason. I guess the honeymoon period is over.
There is a lady here that is all over the place, who barks orders at her and then does not pay attention and follow through with the info mom gives her.

For example mom was supposted to make travel arrangements for one person who was going to be attending a conference. Mom made the arrangements, at a cheaper price and got everything confirmed all in one day. She emailed the "barker" at her job with all the info and that was that.
So today over two weeks later, mom gets a screaming phone call telling her that she messed up and the lady does not have a hotel room. Turns out the "Barker" at her job never told the lady which hotel she was going to be staying at!
It was not Mom's fault but she took the heat so the "Barker" would not have to look bad because she did not follow through.

Yuck. People should not bark, only dogs. Mom should not take things personally, and she needs to stop looking for reasons to quit her job. Stick it out mom, the steady pay is worth more!

Greenpoint is where it's at

It is offical, I'm moving to Greenpoint. I am moving to a bigger apartment in a great location. Mom says that there is a park right down the street. I am so excited to sniff everything on the Brooklyn streets! One of the best things is that Frank lives right down the street. That means that I will now be able to come sometimes when Mom has sleep overs!
We are going to live right above this!

Mom also says that I am going to be getting a walker soon. That means that when mom's at work I will be able to go out and play! Brooklyn is where it's at!

MOM DID IT!!

Mom ran her half marathon on Saturday with Frank and their friend Shannon. They all finished it! Her time was 2 hours and 22min. That means that her average time per mile was about 11 minutes. She only stopped for about a second when they all needed to pee around mile 7. Frank sprinted the last 2 miles and came in before them!
The race it self went through Queens which was not to pretty but it did loop through a part that as Frank said looked like Nantucket. Still they will never live in Queens no matter what!
Mom was so proud of herself that she was able to run the whole race, in the beginning she was all freaked out that she would come in last, she was worried about what others would think about her, she was questioning where to pin her number. All of her concerns were out of FEAR. Once she started running every feeling and concern left her body, she was running. She got a total runners high and became really funny. She was not able to sensor anything that came out of her mouth.
After the run, Frank and her, Ate a lot, and drank a lot a lot!
All in all the day was great, and mom has lost her fear of running long distances, and will someday run a real marathon, not just a half.

Brooklyn here I come!

I have some really good news, but I need the keys in my paws first.

In other news I have made a friend, his name is Milo.

He's a Boston Terrier and his mom's Kristine, that's mom's new friend from her office. We went to my favorite bar The Dove last night and I got to drink wine, eat cheese crackers and play in the Window with milo. I do like him but he was trying to Hump me a lot and I did not like that!

We are cute right!
I hope we get to hang out again soon, he has a blog too and I am happy that my trend is catching on. Well it was Franks idea for me to have a blog in the first place.
Speaking of Frank, he has a show tonight that people should see. It is in an evening entitled "Catch #11". Check it out!

Crying

Mom goes through these phases where she becomes masochist and dredges up anything painful. Such as old memories, reading about boyfriends ex's on their friends websights, listening to old music that people she was one close with wrote, looking at pictures and generally thinking about anything that may make her sad. She does not do this often but when she does it is usually sparked by something. Last night she was hired to clean her old boss's office and usually that would be ok, but this time she learned that it's time to move on an not count on any favors from her ever again. This way if something good does come then it will be unexpected and out of the blue. (there is a whole lot more to that comment but it's not only my story to tell).
Next, she got bad news about this great apartment she thought she was going to get. Someone else got it. That sparked a whole flood of tears, and a feeling that she needed to go home and cry about everything in her life that was making her sad, and once made her sad. When you are searching for things to keep the tears flowing it is amazing how things pile out of the woodwork.
I feel like good buckets of tears are good for you. They get everything out and when you wake up in the morning, yes your eyes are puffy but your head is a lot clearer and the day is more manageable.
I just get sad when mom cries because she does not let me lick her tears, but instead pushes me away until she has controlled her sobbs.

A dinner party / 10 miles down / 2 sausages / and an apartment with a roommate

That is what mom's weekend was like. Friday night was fun mom had Frank and two of her friends Rick and Katie over and made a post Cinco de Mayo vegetarian taco feast. They also celebrated all of Frank's hard work to get a lease signed for a huge office move he is in charge of at Transportation Alternatives! How Cool is he in this pic!

The next day the morning was spent laying around, (but I got to go for a walk), and Then they went and fixed the rear tires of their bikes which were both out.

Next came the crazy part. Mom met her friend Shannon on 69th street and the west side Highway for their biggest run to date, 10 miles! It was near the end of their run that mom discovered that she was totally prepared for the half marathon on Saturday!
She went home / played with me on the roof, showered and got on her bike to go and meet Frank and quench her craving for hot dogs. They cooked dinner and then went off to a bar in Brooklyn named Capones. It is one of those bars owned by the same people who own / The Lyric / The Alligator Lounge / The Abby / The Cellar, the point being that they had free Pizza. So they ate more.
The next day since mom is looking to move to an apartment in Brooklyn she went to go see this place that was a huge loft space. She loved everything about it, except for the fact that it was not her space, it was this guy's space, and she would go from her own space to penciling in when she could watch TV and not having control of cleanliness. She would be reverting back to dorm life! Yuck.
That was the weekend! All and all fun, Sunday night was the best for me cause mom pet me for 5 hours strait while she watched TV ending in "Grey's Anatomy" a great show! her legs were too tired to move so she sat there all night!

It is a family Day

Last night mom went running, and was running late so decided to run to meet her cousin Amy who she was meeting for dinner. She showed up to the Heartland Brewery in her running gear and a bit sweaty. You can only really do that with family.
They ate and talked, and Amy reveled that she bought a paper shredder on Sale from Staples. Now having a shredder and obsessively using it are two separate things. Amy decided to spent a lot of time the other night figuring all the different types of paper she could shred. That's what I call a contious consumer.

In other news one of mom's other cousin's from the same side of the family Steve and his wife Jesse just announced they are going to have a baby!

I am really excited not only because they are my first cousins to have a baby, but Steve also got tenure at his job! Congrats to both of them!

A funny other family bit of news about mom's cousin Andrew, he has launched his own company up at his college McGill. Called "Party McGill". I briefly glanced over the pictures of him (he's one the left)out at the clubs, and let me just say. . . .

He looks too "tired" to be out that late!!!

Last evening

Last night went very well for mom, she got off work and did her laundry, and put me in the cart with all her wet clothes and transported me to the dryer, you can guess how loud I squealed!
Then mom went to Brooklyn because she was meeting Frank who had her bike, which she lent to a friends sister for "Bike New York".
As has mom was getting a Slice of Pizza in Brooklyn she started to think about the places she may want to move to around that area. Which brings me to the point that Mom wants to move to Brooklyn for various reasons, one of them and the biggest one having to do with money. So pretty soon I will be a Brooklyn puppy.
As mom was walking around the streets, she decided she wants to live on Berry.
I don't think that's too much to ask.
She met Frank, and their plan of riding back to the city was foiled because she had a flat in her rear tire, and Frank had lent out his tools to a friend. They hauled the bikes on the the subway, and went back to Manhattan.
In Manhattan they grabbed a beer at this new WAY OVERPRICED Mexican place right off of Bleeker on McDougall, and then went back to my house.
As they were talking mom was trying to explain the idea of the Human names being way over the top too funny to be dog names. Such as "Nick, Stephanie, Amanda and Emily" the list goes on. Maybe you had to be there, but mom was demonstrating by calling me some of the names, and cracking up. Think about it this was, say your dog was named Stephanie, you go to the office and you tell a co-worker; "last night Stephanie crapped all over my rug, I can't tame the bitch". And then what if you had another co-worker named Stephanie. Funny right?
Anyway, moving on At 3am Mom and Frank got awakened by the god damn trash truck picking up the Bleeker st. trash, and after conversing lucidly for a half an hour Frank decided to drug himself with the baby benadryl that mom had taken 5 hours earlier. In my opinion their day was eventful, and I am thankful my name is not Mike.

Boycott

Mom is in her training session now for the half marathon that she is going to be running on May 12th. She went for a 6 mile run last night, and as usual all she had on her was her keys and like 20$. When she was done with her run, she wanted to get dinner, the deli on Bleeker that is next to the CVS was looking mighty good.

She went in there and ordered a roast beef sandwich and grabbed 2 beers out of the case. She went up to wait for the sandwich to be ready and the man (who she sees every day of her life). Told her he needed to see ID for the beers. WHAT! Mom laughed and said "that's funny, you see me every day, I'm 25 and I don't have my ID with me". The man was not budging, he brought the sandwich guy over and asked him if he'd ever seen me before, and (well I know he has) but he said No! Mom was getting so pissed, she was hungry, it was raining and all she wanted to do was eat her sandwich and drink her beer on her couch and watch "24". But the man was not giving her the beer, and so mom point blank said. "I come in here every day, I am 25 years old, I live next door, I am not a cop, I just went running and so I don't have my ID on me can you help me out"? The man looked right at her and said "no, no ID no Beer". Mom looked the man in the face so frustrated and angry dripping with sweat and rain, and said "you just made a huge mistake, you have lost my business forever!" She stormed out and started to cry, ran to another deli and got what she wanted!
It is amazing to me that under different circumstances mom would have just said ok I'll go get my ID, but it was the principle and the fact she just ran 6 miles and her hunger was fueling her. I guess the lesson is in order to always get what you want, when you want you have to have your ID with you!

Not to Be Gross

Not to be too gross, but talking about Vomit is usually ok when you are not feeling sick, and there is nothing gross around such as more vomit.
Mom Got Sick on Saturday, So ill that she decided to Question the dinner she ate at Planet Tai in Brooklyn with Frank, it also could have been because Frank made mom drink like a man. Wine mixed with shots of JD is never a good combo. Mom in fact was so sick that she could not get back to the city on Sunday morning to take me out for a walk, she called Rick and Katie to come an rescue me. . .But they did not make it over in time. I peed all over the floor! And then when mom got home, I could tell she was feeling sick so I licked a bit of the floor cleaner she used to clean up my pee, and I vomited my self.
We had a really good sleep last night, we were so worn out from the Vomiting!

A club in Queens

Mom and Frank have the same feeling about Queens. "Living in Queens means Giving up", well Frank really said it and mom just agrees. But, last night their friend Sotiris Vozikis who is famous in Greece for being a pop star has now been signed in America

and had a show here last night, in a night club in Queens called CLIC.
The club is a lot like clubs in Manhattan, loud, big, girls dancing on poles half naked, and Snoop Dogg playing in the back ground.
Mr. Vozikis was going to sing his song, but it took so long for anything to happen that is was 12am before there was any sign of anything starting on time. The club was not busy, but there were about a 250 people there, and ONE waitress. It took so long for anyone to get their drinks. There were a lot of people there that mom new from College, and some weirdo people that she bumped in to from the past. All and all it was a good time, except that mom and Frank had to leave before the performance because they both had to get up early from their jobs. Oh well, next time maybe they will get to hear Sotiris sing! Or maybe they will go visit him in Greece. . .

PRECIOUS

Mom did it again, she was trying to be nice and she took in another foster dog. Her name is Precious

and she is a one year old pit bull boxer mix. She hates me. Mom brought her in to my house last night and the dumb girl ate all my food and drank all my water, she would not even share. Every time I tried to stick my nose in the dish with her she would growl at me.
She then started pooping all over this newspaper that was laid out on the ground, and man o’ man it smelled sooooooo bad. She would not let me on the couch and every time mom put me up there with her Precious tried to bite my neck.
Dumb dog, she should know better, if I had gotten along with her more mom would have really considered keeping her. Another reason that mom did not keep Precious longer was Frank’s reaction. Priceless. I am even surprised he came over to see it in the first place, he should have known better after last time. Oh mom it is such a pitty you have a good heart!

BIKING IN THE CITY

Ok so Frank's friend Josh had a little spill on the Williamsburg bridge on Friday.

That really got me thinking about the reality of biking in our city's. From what mom tells me; it's scary, thrilling and the freeing. She says you have an element of control, but at the same time you have no control what so ever.
That is what scares me, and a lot of others, the idea that at any moment you could loose control, fall, get into an accident caused by you or anything else. Now if mom was paralyzed by this fear totally she would have never gotten on a bike in the first place.

Mom has a fear about loosing control, but she has been making a constant effort to not let that rule her life, she believes that if you live in fear of the "what if", there is no way that you can really live. That comes with the obvious warning about having common sense and being safe. Also the city's are not safe yet for bikers i.e the bumps on the bridge.
Mom's does not take risks anymore that she feels like she has no control over,
(this is positive and negative, if mom risked more emotionally and physically she would have more to gain if it all turned out well . . .but that is a whole other post about how she plays it safe) but at the same time if mom is taking a risk then she won't know it is a risk until something bad happens, or almost happens to shock her back to reality. Such as, riding a bike without a helmet. Or watching rain come down on the bridge and not slowing her bike down, or getting doored because she was looking the other way at something not important.
Now those are all things that we all do, and we take for granted that nothing is going to happen to us most of the time. It is in those split seconds that things happen for the good and we keep going because nothing happened, or for the bad.
Now after all that worry about herself, mom then spends the rest of the time worrying about others. This is also a constant battle. I feel that worry comes from love, not the need to control. (well maybe a little need to control) but you worry about others when you don't want anything to happen to them to make them hurt or die. Worry also comes from selfishness, the thought that if someone you love dies how that would then make you and others feel. It is not about how the other person would feel (they are dead and therefore don't feel).
I could go on, but the point is that when accidents happen, reality crashes in. (no pun intended). This makes mom scared and then start to worry about everyone around her, and want everyone to walk everywhere forever. Clearly that won't happen, nor should it. But everyone should be careful and selfish with their own safety. (P.S I am making mom read a book now called “The Joy Of Worry”).

Passover

So mom and Frank rented a car this past friday and drove to Boston for passover seder.

They did not ask me if I could come, but threw me in the car without my permission. I got back at them by making crying sounds the whole way.
When we got to grandma's house . . the adventure begain. I was not allowed to be there so Frank and mom had to shove me in a bag and cover me with a blanket. It was not fun to ride up in an elevator blinded by cotton.
It was good to see grandma, but when I had to pee I had to be snuck out in the bag, dumped in the car and drove to a parking lot down the block. Since that was so much trouble I picked a part of the rug and made that my bathroom.
Passover it self was great, the food and the people were fun. Everybody was trashed, John Yarwood found the Afikomen, and Frank created the passover sharing circle. I even got to see

John and Noreen's new apartment in Jamacia Plain, but their dog Bingo tried to hump me.
But, To get back at mom and Frank for the tourture of the weekend I woke them up at 7:30am every day and cried the whole way back to New York in the car!
I guess that I won't be going back to see grandma anytime soon. They are going to
"passover" that idea.

sorry i've been away

So the running and or training for the half marathon is going well. Mom and Shannon have been going on really long run's. Their longest to date has been 8 miles. Cool right. Mom fell during the run which was so funny to them. They were running in Brooklyn near a total jewish neighborhood, and mom could not stop looking and missed a curb and took a skid dive!
Also mom's new job starts today which she is really excited about, she gets health insurance!
And this weekend is going to be really fun, Mom and Frank and I are going on a car trip to Boston for passover. I am so excited to see Grandma,

and maybe I can sleep on her bed! She loves me a lot and she will feed me from the table! Passover this year is going to lots of fun because it is going to be a non religious buffett with guacamole and all!

Britney Spears is Pregnant

Well folks, the rumor was true she is prego! Over the past few weeks the tabloids have been speculating at the growing size of Britney's tummy. Some thought she was just getting fat, but others figured she was pregnant. Today we found out on her websight that it is true she is just pregnant, and well Fat too! Britney and Kevin are having a baby!

It was some mighty good publicity from Britney's camp, having her out and about in a bikini and a belly, and showing pic's of her almost having morning sickness over her balcony!
All I have to say is, good now she can finally be fat and not have anyone give her grief about it. (Considering her "Fat" means average size in the human world)
I hope it is a girl and she is named miss piggy in honor of me one of her biggest fans! Oh come on you can't tell me you have never danced to a song of her's. I'm sure Kevin has.

Fever Pitch

Ok so this is a shameless plug for a movie that get grown men crying. Even if you don't like Baseball, and even if you don't like the Boston Red Sox, you should still see the movie Fever Pitch.

Mom is from Boston, and she kind of likes sports, so that means by defalt she is a Red Sox Fan. Frank does not follow sports too much, but did watch last season's Red Sox World Series Win. So togther they are not hugh sports fans, but they still really liked this movie. There was humor, love, and obsession of the game. Drew Berrymore was not too good, but all the other pieces fit. The audience ends up rooting for the game and the sucess of her and Jimmy Fallon's relationship! And to Frank's suprise he did not break out and laugh at his own jokes once!
Everyone should see this movie, for the fun, for the numbers and for baseball.
Go Sox!!!

nightmares

oh man, mom hs been having some vivid dreams lately. She has been making sounds, and waking up screaming. Maybe it is the way the bed is positioned. Also it could be because I have been secretly licking her lips while she is sleeping. I dream to you know, but my dreams are of fun things and food.

I know that she does not like it when i lick her lips while she's sleeping, but because she was so absent last week , I had to get her back. I just hope she is not dreaming mean things about me.

Jobs

What is mom doing with her life?. . .This is the new question of the week. We know she is starting to train for the half marathon she and Shannon and possibley Frank are going to run mid May, but other than that what's on her plate?
I have been watching her bang her head against the wall and send out resume's and wait for phone calls for a while now.
My biggest concern is that she is out there looking for jobs she does not even want. She wants to direct theatre, but has to settle for some sort of "Day job" that pays the bills. A lot of people are in her shoes, and thoes people are able to suck up the crap jobs and deal with it. Mom for some reason can't. She feels like If she has to suffer in a job that pays the bills why not make it one she can stomach?
These are her guide lines now . . no waitressing, no bartending, no retail, and no working at night. That's it, is that too much to ask? She is totally qualified in so many other fields and could be the best office manager/assistant there is. But guess who keeps sending her resume out there and getting no repsones . . . mom.
So I have told her, this is what you have to do, you have to think positivally, and make it your goal to get a job, the more resume's that you put out there, the more chances you will get a bite. So hopefully this is going to be her new out look!

Everyone cross your fingers, I will cross my paws. Lets hope mom gets a job.

the show is over

So mom's show "subUrbia" closed tonight, and I am soo happy. Now I will be able to go on long long walks. She has really been skimping lately. Her bro JR, has been sleeping over and he has had to walk me a lot. Thanks to him I have been able to see the outside world.
This past weekend has been so much fun cause grandma, bro Alex, bro JR and Franks parents all got to pet me. I love being petted by all types of people. Now I have to go to bed and sleep with mom, cause she is so tired from her long day eating brunch with Franks Parents, the show, cleaning up the set and the cast party.

Woo Hoo I am glad mom's back home. . .more later

Tuesday, March 29, 2005

mom has been a crazy mess

Mom's show "subUrbia" that she's directing opened on Wednsday. I no longer get two walks a day. I now get a great big walk in the morning and then at night before she has to go to the theatre she puts me on the roof. I like my roof but I get so dirty that I have to get bath's way more often. Mom is really good about taking me up on the roof when she gets home late at night as well. But come on . . . I want more walks, it is not fair that the minute mom gets busy, my schedule suffers. Thank god the show only runs for a week. . .

I peed on Frank

I admit it, I was jelous. I was not getting any attention and all I wanted was to be petted and to sit on the couch with Frank and Mom. I mean god they were watching "Nip Tuck", and I did not have a good view. I got on to the couch and decided that it would be best to turn around in circles and start to pee. The most amazing thing happened when I started to pee. Mom hit Frank so hard that he jumped off the couch and while he was jumping my pee was spraying and not only got all over Frank but made the whole coutch covered. Mom was so mad at me, and yelled so loud that I got so scared and had to hide under the table for an hour.

Sorry Frank and mom, I promise never to do that again. But don't ignore me . . .or else.

shows are a comming up

Moms show "suburbia" is opening soon. Actually it opens on March 30th at 8pm.

I was able to go to a few rehearsels and from my point of view all of the cast smells great, and a few of them even fed me. So everyone is on my good list. I suggest to all to go to the show. The best part is that Frank plays the guitar and sings. I think he is great, and he taught himself guitar in a month.

Another show you should all check out is mom's friend Alicia's band ONEIRIS. They are playing at the club PAINOS.

Their show is on April 2nd. They are a really good band and as we all know Alicia is a great singer. And if you go to her show she will tell you a big secret about her!

Mom has been a traveling Queen

So I have been left alone in the apartment one too many times this month. First when mom went to New Bedford, second when mom and her brother Alex went to D.C to say goodbye to Puh, and then again when mom had to go to Norfolk for the actuall funeral. Now I totally understand why mom had to leave but, please at least have someone stay at the apartment with me. I really don't like to have to pee on the floor in protest, it is my house too, but she really leaves me no choice.

Frank took me to the big pen

Frank was watching me while mom went with her brother Alex to Washington DC on Thursday. Mom went to see her Grandpa to say good bye because he was really sick and ended up passing away On Friday.
So Frank was able to care for me. He came by after work and took me on a walk to dum dum dum. . .the big dog run in Washington Square Park.

I have not been there yet because mom was hesitant to take me there. Since mom hates the small dog run in Washington Square park, or rather hates small dog people, I have not been able to run with other dogs in a while.
I was so excited that Frank let me play with the big dogs. I had such a good time running and playing in all of that open space. He did not worry like mom would about me getting eaten by a big dog.

I have been trying to tell mom that he took me there, but she did not get it. Untill Frank let it slip that he did indeed let me play in there. At first mom was mad, or rather worried about my time in there. But then we found out that she was just jelous that she was not there the first time I got to go in. Now I hope she will take me all the time. I really like it.

running with mom

I have ton's of energy, I love to hop around and bounce. Mom realized this and has decided to make me run with her. She got this idea while in New Bedford this past weekend. She was bored and decided to go for a long run with Alicia's Husky Yukie.

They ran for about 4 miles and since Husky's are sled dogs, Yukie pulled her the whole entire time. Their run so great that mom got home and is now making me act like the damn husky.
I don't have endurance, and I have short legs. This is why I don't go down stairs. I mean please look at these legs, they are small.

I was fed a lot of water, my leash was put on and off we went to run around Washington Square park. . . Ok, as we all know 2 laps around the park is a mile. I did the first one and then when I realized that the second one was going to happen I did half and then layed on the ground like a dead cockroach.

NO WAY!! I need more time to build up endurance. I don't care about mom's bet with the "Oscars" and Swank winning. I am not a running Puppy. Sorry mom you are better off with the Husky.

Mom was gone, in comes Josh

Ok so I am all about the positive male role model, and when I found out that Frank's good friend Josh was comming to care for me, I got excited. I really don't know much about him other then our far too infrequent meetings. I met him once when I was a brand new puppy at my old apartment, and another time when he came over to drink wine with mom and frank. I can tell you this. He has a great big red bag that smells way too good for me not to try and climb into, and he is really tall. He stayed with me when mom was in New Bedford visting Alicia this weekend. He drank wine, cooked food, had Frank over to play and did some work on the computer, (he is always on that thing). He let me chew mom's pillows, and did not let me pee in the bathroom, and he was really good about taking me for walks.

I like the break from mom, always needing to pet me. I am growing up and now I need a bit of space. I hope he comes again and shares his Ice-cream with me this time! Thanks josh for taking such good care of me!

Fun Times at a Fun Party

Mom threw a super fun Fundraising party last night. The party was to support the play "Suburbia" by Eric Bogosian.

Mom is directing it with Red Star productions.
The best part of the party was the cheap drink specials, and the super cool raffell. People won all sorts of fun stuff such as "The Cheap Date" a box of condoms and a large bottle of Wine, and "Tequilla Suprise", a bottle of Tequilla and mix and glasses to match. Mom's friend Katie who is also in the show, and one of the producers with her came up with all of thoes! Thanks to her, and the rest of the theatre company, the cast, and all who came A fun time was had by all. Now the next test will be filling the theatre and making sure the content of the play is clear. I have faith in mom and the cast I know that they can do it!

mom's back in the game.

It's on now. The oscar was won by Swank, and mom's wrist is healed from getting a tattoo. She had to take a break from the pull-up's, but now game on. She has started to mentally prepare for the feet she has to acomplish by her birthday. (running a half marathon/and doing 3 sets of 10 pull-ups). I have faith that she can do it. Now she can do 5 pull-ups. then 3 pull-ups. and then 3 or 4 more. She can run 4 miles. ok so she has a way to go. But the more I talk about it the more she will have to do it. She can already lift me. So she is on the right track.

Good luck mom.

Guitar meets bicycle

There was an acoustic guitar living in my apartment for a few days. Frank has to learn how to play it for the show that he is in. He was practicing the other day and he is quite good. He wanted it to be at his apartment, and as we all know Frank does not want to take the subway unless he has to, he would rather bike. This means that he gets to show his no handed skills on his bike while transporting the guitar back to Brooklyn.

Ok. So of course Frank can manage to ride his bike and carry a guitar back to his house, and I'm sure he could do the whole trip only using the free hand when he needs it. But that is not ok with Mom.
She got scared that something was going to happen to him. So she told him that she only wanted him to do it if he kept one hand on the bike at all times.
Mom is crazy, and ended up making Frank have a sore back when he got home, because he followed her instructions.
She should have trusted his skills. Next time she will.

I am mad at mom

So mom comes home Sunday morning from Frank's after leaving me alone with her Friend Roy all night. (Roy is mom's friend who came in From San Fransisco to be in the play mom's directing). I was so excited to see her and she takes me on a walk to the pet store. I thought she was going to buy me a greenie. But boy was I wrong. She decided to buy a home grooming kit. . .

Um, is she out of her mind?
WE get home and she gives me a really really long bath, and while I am drying, she puts on the instructional DVD, which teaches her how to use the sheering razor. I know I can't see 3D and all but boy did I see the other dogs on the TV, wineing and pulling to get away from the sound the razor makes.
Mom decides she is ready to try it on her own. We go to the kitchen and she puts my coller on and begins. So I take the cue from the other dogs on the DVD and make it as hard for her as possible. I am sorry, but It is still cold out and I need my hair for pertection.
Mom finishes up after what seemed like hours and now, I have no hair and I am not going to lick her for a week. I have taken refuege under the coutch.

Take that mom, that's what you get for sheering me like a sheep.

Frank asked Mom to come into his work to get her picture taken for Bike Month. They wanted to take a photo of her with her bike, and since it's for public consuption, she also had to wear a helmet. It's not clear whether or not she'll be in a poster on the subway or in a calendar. Either way, you saw it here first!
